How long does it take after the payment to get the software?

Once you have made the payment, you will get the order confirmation email with a BLUE BUTTON to activate the software. This email should hit your inbox in between 10-15 minutes. If you did not get the email, please check the JUNK or SPAM folder. Ensure to mark the order confirmation email as NOT JUNK/SPAM.

How do I get my activation code?

Please go to your order confirmation email and then click on ‘activate my license'.

Does it work on MT5?

Yes, it does.

Does it work on MT4?

No. It only works on MT5.

Does it work on smartphone or desktop or laptops?

The MT5 Simulator is designed as a learning tool. Hence, you are expected to set some time aside to practice your learning skills in the time you are free. Therefore, it only works on Windows Desktops and Laptops.

The download link is not working, or it is broken. Where can I download the software from?

Getting an Error?

Please ensure the following:

  1. Download the software from the link below:

  2. Please make sure you have installed all the files correctly. Refer to the installation guides (link below) for more details. Installation guides: https://mt5simulator.com/blogs/knowledge-base
  3. Also, ensure you have downloaded the MT5 platform from your broker's website, not a generic one.
  4. Lastly, note that you are logging into your broker’s correct MT5 account number because your license will only work with the correct MT5 account number.

For example, The MT5 account number on your broker's top left-hand side of the screen is 1348014 , but the license/MT5 account number you have given to us and on your MT5 Simulator login screen is 12356, it will NOT work. In other words, the license on the top-left-hand side of your broker’s screen and the Activation Code on the MT5 Simulator login window MUST MATCH.

I am facing downloading or any other error!

Please ensure that you have the most updated version of the MT5 Simulator files in your DATA FOLDER; please see the steps below:

  1. Delete all old MT5 Simulator files in your ADVISORS and FILES folders.
  2. Replace them with the updated version found at: https://mt5simulator.com/pages/software

If the error still occurs, please send us a quick video of the error ensuring to cover the entire screen and the location of the files in your data folder.

I can't see the start button.

Please change scaling to 100% in the display settings.
Go to Windows settings > Display > Scale > Choose 100% from the drop-down menu.

Which broker does this software works with?

Ideally it should work with any broker. Unless there are certain restrictions placed by your broker on installation of external application or automated trading.

Does it work on demo or live accounts?

Please feel free to test it on demo mode because to give our users the best learning experience, we have mainly tested it on live data. Moreover, this is a simulation platform of live historical data, not demo data.

It is not possible to test any trading robots or scripts or can it work as an EA tester?

No. MT5 Simulator is not designed for back testing of an EA or trading robots or scripts.

Unable to open the MT5 Simulator exe file on my computer.

The exe file is meant to open inside of MT5. It will not open on it’s own. Please follow the installation guide for detailed installation instructions.

Does it work on windows or Mac?

We have designed it mainly for windows. However, we are getting the feedback that users are able to use it with Parallels and/or VMware Fusion but there are no guarantees.

What does 2 licenses mean?

Two licenses will allow you to activate and use the simulator on two different MT5 trading accounts/brokers. If the broker is the same for both licenses, you will only need to install the Simulator once.

You can also link each license to a different MT5 broker; however, this will require separate installation on each broker's MT5 platform.

Can I try the software for free?

Please feel free to test out a free copy. The 'Discipline Mode' will allow you to take up to 5 trades for free, while in the 'Original Mode,' you can take as many trades as you like.

Can I use the MT5 Simulator on two different devices?

Yes, you can on two different devices as long as you are logged in to the MT5 trading account/s that you have activated with us.
